Keyboard Builders' Digest / Editorial
Behind the Scenes of Issue 111
Difficult times.
Published January 16, 2023

Hey y'all,
Welcome back for another edition of Keyboard Builders' Digest (this time Issue #111), a weekly roundup of this DIY keyboard focused newsletter and blog from Tamas Dovenyi – that's me. If you are new to this, you can read how this started out and what this is all about nowadays. If you like what you see, you can subscribe to the newsletter (free) and donate some bucks to keep this otherwise free and ad-free project alive.

Hey y'all,
Really difficult times for me and my family. I've spent the last ten days with a family member waiting at our GP, in ER/ICU, and then the last four days in hospital taking care of her. Priorities shift in such a situation.
So another short kbd issue this time. I'd be the happiest person on Earth if I could be able to get back on track soon.
I skip on the newsletter and the whole dissemination part this time.
Finnish week
Fortunately, the Turku Meetup gallery introduced (at least to me) some older keyboard models so I could comb together some posts for an issue.
Azimuth PCB
I've barely had time to sit down at my computer these days. All I've done is I managed to recreate my original hand-drawn Azimuth plate in Ergogen 4. Sort of.
One step closer to being able to showcase the low-pro POM MBK/POM MCC caps I received from MoErgo/SplitKB.
Vendor database
- holykeebs (Israel) added, and Idan offered you a discount of 5% (use the KBDNEWS coupon code).
Meetup database
- Florida MechKeys Meetup added (Orlando, Jan 28).
- Turku Meetup added (after the event) with gallery.
As always, this meetup database is both a calendar and an archive so feel free to send me upcoming events or even ones from the recent past to make this collection as comprehensive as possible.
Donors
- A new donor: Schnoor Typography. Thanks!
- And I've lost a long-time recurring donor. Wanna help and take his place?
As I write it in my year-end summary, maintaining this site takes a lot of energy and time. (According to the Reddit Recap stats that's 100 hours per month on Reddit only.) If you'd like and can afford to help, here is the donation form.
And many thanks to everyone who supported this project in any of its development stages.

That's all for today. Thanks for checking by.
Cheers, Tamás
