The Gateron Khonsu linear switch features Gateron's best molding, improved factory lubing, and top material selections. To maintain an overall clean, solid, and clacky sound profile, designer Mori chose to make the Khonsu housing with the Sea Salt Smoothie housing mold. Paired with the classic Gateron rail bottom-out stem, the Khonsu switch has a surprisingly crispy and clacky sound. Because the Khonsu switch is rail bottom-out, Mori delivered special instructions to Gateron regarding the factory lube process: Only the leaf, spring, stem legs, the front and the back side of the stem are precisely lubed. This way, there won't be any pooling issues. Please note, the dry version also comes with a bit of lube on the stem legs and leaf to eliminate noises – Unikeys. | Not long after the release of the Hyacinth V2 switch, Sillyworks came up with a new version of it. They are not calling it V3 as you might have expected. Instead, what you see here is the V2U. There is a story behind the V2U. When they started designing the Hyacinth V2 switches, fans begged them to make the new Hyacinth switches to have a longer travel distance and a full purple color. However, due to some manufacturing reasons at the time, Silly decided to make the V2 version a 3.6mm travel linear switch and kept the green stem from the Hyacinth V1s. Silly did not give us what we wanted but he never forgot. After some hard work with HMX and tweaks in designs, they finally came up with a set of molds to make the near-full travel Hyacinth switch come true. Here it goes the V2U as the "U" stands for designed by "U" and designed for "U" (U here represents the enthusiasts) – Unikeys. |
