The Egg Yolk is HMX's first switch with a double-shot bottom housing – and that's exactly what makes the difference in the sound profile: a deliberately engineered S1 post sits in the middle of the PA66 bottom, right where the stem hits. The result is an exceptionally clacky, crisp keypress with a surprisingly full, rounded character – substantial and defined, without letting the classic HMX clack drift into the bright or shrill range. The hardened M2 stem keeps the 3.6mm travel glassy-smooth throughout and adds a poppy snap on bottom-out. Currently considered one of the clackiest linear switches around – ideal for loud, lively builds with character – MonacoKeys. | The Yogurt V2 linear switch is the newest version of the HMX Yogurt switch designed by XLLAB. The major change this time is that the Yogurt V2 switch comes with HMX's brand new top housing with improved smoothness and a light diffuser installed. Other than that, the Yogurt V2 switch kept everything else that's original to the V1. The P5 bottom housing Yogurt switches use a modified nylon with 40-45% fiberglass added. It is a new nylon blend from HMX and by far the material with the most fiberglass added. What it does to the switches is make them sound super loud, clacky, and full-sounding – Unikeys. |
