Comments on Sillyworks X HMX Waverider V2 switches

The HMX Hydra tactile switch is designed by XLLAB and features a big almost D-shaped tactile bump similar to Retro J. It is an attempt to replicate the classic Gateron Type R's D-shaped bump, but with a touch of the signature HMX clacky sound profile and fantastic stem wobble control. Thanks to the P2 bottom housing, the Hydra switches are one of the clackiest HMX tactile switches so far – Unikeys.

The Waverider V2 tactile switch is the successor to the classic KTT Waverider tactile switch that was released back in 2023. The new Waverider V2 tactile switch is now manufactured by HMX using their super-popular tactile designs. They come with a P tactile bump and a slightly longer than usual 3.8mm travel distance. This design pays tribute to the V1, which also had a large P and close to D tactile bump and slightly longer travel. Overall, the Waverider V2 switches are clacky, crisp, and clean to type on – Unikeys.
