This Soviet reed-switch КТ-У1 keyboard was manufactured in 1988 and it just dwarfs a full-sized one (see in the gallery).

I think if the keyboard will be treated with respect (lubrication + noise dampening) – it will be the absolute of silence (except the reed clicking and spring ringing) – psych_1337.

As a follow-up, psych_1337 posted a typing test too. Check it out here.

If you press the button slowly, it's possible to hear the slight click of the reed tube itself, but I wasn't able to cleanly record the sound.

The happy owner is going to make a converter to connect the keyboard to a PC, but "the protocol is a bit weird".
