Best-selling keyboard switches of July 2025
In this overview of community-favorite mechanical switches, here are July's top picks, based on real sales data provided by vendors and manufacturers.

Hey fellow switch enthusiasts! A bunch of kind vendors got back to me with their sales volumes despite the holiday season, so let's continue our monthly series highlighting the community's favorite switch models! This time, we're diving into July's best-selling switches. Discussion over at r/mk if you'd like to share your experiences or opinion.
Summary: 17 contributors from all around the globe, representing about half a million switches sold, with 107 switch models mentioned and 19 new switch models appearing first in the top lists.

General market trends
This compilation is fairly representative — we have data from the US to China, Japan to France, Germany to India, and Australia to the UK. Based on the sales volumes reported by all the shops, I can usually spot some interesting trends. For example, after a rather weak June, July could be considered at least mixed: 9 vendors reported growth, while 6 saw contraction. (The rest stagnated.) However, most of the leading shops’ growth still wasn’t enough to reach pre-summer levels. This is likely a continued seasonal effect, with many smaller shops and community members already on holiday or preparing for vacations — and not wanting parcels to arrive while they’re away.
Tactile switches account for 40% of not just the top 10 aggregated list positions but also the top50 – as already mentioned earlier, due to their smaller variety and greater concentration compared to linears, they may be overrepresented.

Switch testers
Many of you asked for switch testers. While I'm not a merchant myself, Clackify (US) specializes in exactly that – custom switch testers. Give them a shot. Or there's Unikeys (CN) with a massive selection, and also Monacokeys (DE) and CoffeeKeys (IT) in the EU. Other shops offer more specific switch testers too, e.g. Beaverkeys (CA) or Keebz N Cables (AU).
Novelties & Database updates
19 new switch models have recently been added to the database as a result of the incoming top lists – some are brand new, others older but included below due to renewed interest.
- Akko's new V5 Cream Yellow Pro and Cream Blue Pro switches made it to their in-house top10 despite the little to no promotion.
- Talpkeyboard's new top switches continue to highlight the difference of Japanese taste: Kailh Saker Mini ChocV2 and the 28g Zuoce BSUN Turquoise. At least something other than low-pro Chocs. :)
- Lots of new Keygeek models at Unikeys: the ultraclacky Keygeek B1 with 50% fiberglass in the bottom housing, the updated Keygeek Mirror Lake V2, the deep and thocky Keygeek Butterfly with not just a spherical stem tip but also a spherical contact point in the bottom housing, and Keygeek Orange Boi with N1 (10% fibreglass) Nylon.
- And yet another Keygeek: Guns N Roses at Keebz N Cables – the first non-cheese themed switch by Keys in Cheese Studio.
- Speaking of cheese: BSUN x Zuoce Studio Cheese Grape – KeebzNCables is excited about the tactility of this one.
- OWlab Ti HE (40g) – the 40g version was added, the 50g is already at place 6 in the overall top list.
- HMX Pine Moon debuted at SerpentKeys.
- BSUN Ocean – we love glitter. And Monacokeys compares these to the Type R, so you'll probably love them too.
- More cheese: SWK Cheddar. Well, a Cheddar debuting in France (Delta Keys Co)? Audacious.
- And some ageold Kailh models got to the top because of huge discounts or some shops running out of more recent releases: Kailh BOX White and Kailh Box Jade – jeez, my second and third switch purchases, probably back in 2018/2019. :D Also Kailh Choc (V1) Robin. And the Novelkeys Cream+ and Haimu x Geon HG Red belong to the blast from the past section too.

July was quite good considering it is one of the holiday months in Europe. The BSUN Ocean have been added a bit later in the month to our portfolio but are similar to the Gateron Type R switches and receive similar good feedback from customers – Michael.

July brought a slight increase in total switch sales compared to June, likely boosted by ongoing summer promotions. In July, we had two new switches that made it to our Top 10. First one being Keygeek Guns N Roses, a non-Cheese themed switch from Keys in Cheese Studio which contains metal sprinkles in the stem for a kinda deep and kinda clacky sound profile. The second one, BSUN x Zuoce Studio Cheese Grape Tactile. An interesting tactile which when typing fast, the tactile bump feels lighter, while on slower key presses feels more pronounced – Jason.

Here is our switch sales data for July. It's worth mentioning that the two V5 switches (Akko V5 Creamy Yellow Pro and Akko V5 Creamy Blue Pro) have attracted quite a few customers to try them out, even though we’ve done little to no external promotion so far. Additionally, we will be launching Akko’s 9th Anniversary Celebration around August 25th to mark the occasion and celebrate our participation in Gamescom and IFA. Up until June, it felt like the list had turned into a specialty showcase for Kailh and silent switches, but July brought a wider variety of new key switches into the mix — making things much more interesting. More new switches are on the way this month as well – Yousuke.

Disclaimer
Keep in mind that most of the time I'm not in a position to verify the validity and accuracy of the data provided by shop runners. Some of these lists come automatically from their databases, with screenshots, however, some were put together manually. I asked for the numbers of the previous month, but some shops query the past 30 days, etc.
That said, take everything with a grain of salt, but I hope this compilation will still hold some value, highlighting trends, giving you some tips, and as a snapshot of the zeitgeist it will be also interesting to look back at on the long run.
About the algorithm
While contributors provide exact numbers, standardization, normalization, and other techniques remain essential to come up with a ranked list due to some remaining inconsistencies, unfortunately.
The current system:
- incorporates sales volume as a percentage – to mitigate the dominance of a single huge vendor
- rewards switches present in multiple lists – to compensate the effect of some switches being offered in a single shop only, thus reflecting availability
- incorporates the previous months with decaying weights – to rank the products that are in a tie.
As with all such statistical methods, if we were to tamper with the algorithm, it would produce completely different results.
Another source of confusion and inconsistency is the arrival of belated lists. When such datasets come in, I update the database but often not the already published article. While I add the specific list to the database, I don’t update the overall rankings in the write-up.
Final thoughts & Developments
Hey, I hope this write-up was useful to some of you because, again, it took me about 15-20 hours to complete despite the heavy automation wherever possible.
I haven't had time to finish the switch comparison feature, haven't even touched it to be honest, but soft-launched it anyway for those who got to this point. :) Full of errors and inconsistencies, but there are side-by-side specs, plus a way to find alternatives based on how closely a switch’s attributes match others. Just scroll down to the bottom of any switch profile page.
Beside these developments, the new switch models were both the best and most challenging part of compiling this article: researching these new switches, adding them to the database, tagging, and often diving into desperate investigations about missing actuation forces, pre-travels and whatnot. It's time-consuming but also the most exciting aspect – discovering all the fresh, shiny, and innovative releases.
Once again, I learned a lot about vendors, switches, and managing the ever-evolving switch database while compiling this article.
