Designed by Dane Lipscombe (aka dlip/fata1err0r81) to be minimalistic and portable, the monoblock split Koumori is a low-profile open-soure keyboard with Cirque trackpad.

Name means the animal "bat" in Japanese – fata1err0r81.

Features

  • unibody split
  • 28 keys (4x3+2 using Engram)
  • low-pro Choc switches, hotswap sockets
  • RP2040-Zero MCU
  • Cirque 40mm trackpad with glass overlay
  • case with handle and magnetic lid
  • QMK firmware

The PCB and case was designed in Ergogen.

Regarding the glass overlay:

The glass screen protector makes it feel a lot more premium, it's similar to a mobile phone. Also the stock vinyl overlay that it comes with wears down after about 6 months of full time use and starts getting sticky. I tried a Thinkpad trackpad replacement overlay in the past, it was okay for about a month but it wore down too. The vinyl sheet is just a craft adhesive one, it's mainly to give it some color since it doesn't feel great on it's own. You could stick the glass on the stock overlay, or directly on the cirque PCB if you like the red color – fata1err0r81.
