MajinEvelyn (aka Ignoratio) shared the most recent iteration of the lovely aphelo30, an open-source split keyboard with low-pro Choc switches. This layout addresses a very specific requirement, as it comes without any thumb keys.

I made a new version of my 30 key split, the aphelo30 and am finally posting the build in time for the end of pride month. Much more detail in the repo below! – Ignoratio.

Named for the Aphelocoma genus of scrub jay birds, like the original.

Features

  • 30 keys (5x3), split, no thumb keys
  • low-profile Choc V1 switches (hotswap)
  • reversible PCB
  • Nice!Nano v2 controllers
  • splay
  • ZMK firmware
  • 3D-printed carrying case

The "case" is more of a magnetically attached sandwich cover for the keycaps, and with this arrangement of magnets is very strong.
