The grAIl - AI inspired design

Tschibo00's 40% grAIl was inspired by an AI image. But it's a real keyboard.

Meet grAIl, a row-staggered 40% keyboard designed by human hands (Tschibo00), but inspired by artificial intelligence. Weird QAZ-like layout with ISO Enter, gasket mounting, cork dampening.

Every detail, from the unique layout to the artisan keycap, stays true to the AI’s vision. A keyboard that feels like it stepped out of a machine’s imagination and into my hands. Crafted by artificial intelligence, its design bends the rules of traditional ergonomics — keys are slightly misaligned, angles feel almost right, and yet, somehow, it all just works. Perfection is overrated. Welcome to the future of typing – Tschibo00.

Specs

  • 32(-34?) keys
  • MX, soldered
  • RPi2040 Zero controller
  • 3D-printed case
  • Custom keycaps by Yuzu.
